Deep tank

 A tank fitted and equipped for the carriage of  

 vegetable oil  (e.g. palm oil and coconut oil ) and other

 liquids in bulk on a  vessel.  By means of oil tight

 bulkheads and/or decks, it is possible to  carry different

 kinds of liquid in adjacent tanks

 order  to carry and  discharge oil  at the required

 temperature

 The measured distance vertically amidships between

 the main  load  line of a ship and the deck line (free

 board deck of  ship-main  deck in a single tween deck,

 and shelter deck in an  shelter deck  ship)

 

 The amount of free board assigned is such  that the

 ship, when loaded down to her load line, possesses  sufficient reserve  buoyancy in the portion of the hull

 and the erections above the waterline to ensure a

 satisfactory margin of safety

Hatches 

 The opening in the deck(s) of general cargo and bulk

 cargo  vessels to allow loading and discharge of cargo

Jumbo derrick

 Ship’s derrick with high lifting capacity provided for

 heavy lifts

Lifeboat

 A boat carried by a ship for use in an emergency or

 land based  at a life boat station

Poop  Raised deck at the stern of a vessel
Propeller  A means of propelling a vessel through the water
